CAROLA ASSOCIATION AWARDED A DIPLOMA
The Carola Association was presented with a commemorative certificate for its dedication in contributing to the organization of the 10th anniversary Hungarian Cultural Days of Kolozsvár (Cluj-Napoca).
Residents of Cluj-Napoca had several hundred programmes to choose from at the event series staged between 17-25 August, thus it was no surprise to find that the cultural fiesta attracted a record attendance of nearly 300,000 visitors.
The series staged at 133 event venues was organized by Treasure Cluj Association and KMN Association along with the assistance of a further 156 partner organizations.
Tinies could take part in nearly 100 kids’ programmes, 50 films were screened and there were nearly 40 city sightseeing tours for all interested. In addition, visitors to the Hungarian Days were invited to join several classical and pop music concerts.
Farkas Street hosted the handicrafts fair, themed programme pavilions, the Promenade of Museums and the book fair. A medieval village providing space for the children’s programmes was brought to life in the Garden of Ruins of the Farkas Street church; this is also where the Day of Hungarian Sheep Dogs was organized. Once again this year, Fogoly Street was transformed into Wine Street, while concerts and parties were held in the courtyard of Bánffy Palace. Outdoor cooking and an ox roast were again staged in the courtyard of the Apáczai Csere János Theoretical Lyceum.
The Next Hungarian Cultural Days of Kolozsvár takes place between 17-23 August 2020. All are welcome!
