Background
The Carola Association was established in honour of Baroness Elemér Bornemissza, Carola Szilvássy in Cluj-Napoca (Kolozsvár) on 22 September 2015.

The objective of the Carola Association is the research, exploration and rehabilitation of the Transylvanian Hungarian minority’s painting, film, urbanistic and general cultural heritage that has been forgotten, damaged or is stored in unsuitable conditions. The nonprofit organization devotes particular attention to the documents of Baroness Elemér Bornemissza, Carola Szilvássy, the cultural and spiritual values she represents, the preservation of the memory and cultural heritage of Miklós Bánffy, the preservation and promotion of works by painter László Sipos Pünkösti, and the memory of Ildikó Kovács, director, puppet theatre actress.
Furthermore, the association is actively engaged in the organization of special programmes of a scientific or cultural nature, extension training courses, camps and excursions. Moreover, the association is willing to undertake a role in arranging colloquiums, conferences, forums and workshops that fit its profile. It gives special attention to adult training, the editing and publication of leaflets, articles, newspapers and publications, and making audio and video recordings on relevant topics.
The website is designed to assist us in informing as many people as possible about the life and role of Carola Szilvássy who played such an important part in the cultural sphere of Transylvania, as well as other remarkable women.
